Leicestershire is historically one of the lowest-funded counties for education.
Conservative cuts mean that local schools in Harborough, Oadby and Wigston will see less money over the next few years. The changes are equivalent to the loss of one or more Teachers in most schools.
The Liberal Democrats have a costed plan to ensure we have a first class education system:
Invest Β£7 billion extra in children's education, so that no school loses money per pupil.
Triple the Early Years Pupil Premium to Β£1000 - giving children from disadvantaged backgrounds the best start in life.
These plans would be partly funded by reversing the cuts in Corporation Tax.
