The Boundary Commission has published draft proposals for changing which areas elect MPs in Leicestershire.
Conservative MPs in the county have signed a letter asking that Oadby is split up, with a large chunk of the town being represented by a Leicester MP.
The letter was sent to Parish Councillors in Leicestershire and was passed on to local Liberal Democrat councillors.
This would not only break up the Borough of Oadby and Wigston but also cut Oadby in half.
Such a move would no doubt pave the way for Leicester to take over some or all of Oadby, and shows how out of touch the MP here is with the residents he is supposed to represent.
Liberal Democrats welcome the Boundary Commission's proposed changes to constituency boundaries that would see one MP represent Blaby, Oadby and Wigston. All three towns face similar challenges and opportunities that come with our location close to Leicester.
Please sign our petition to stop some of Oadby being split into the city and supporting the Boundary Commission plans for one MP for Blaby, Oadby and Wigston.
We the undersigned oppose plans for part of Oadby to be represented by a Leicester MP and support the Boundary Commission's proposals to elect one MP for Oadby, Wigston & Blaby.
Whether you've already signed up to the campaign or aren't ready just yet, you can still help encourage other people to sign up.
