Don't Forget To Put Your Clocks Back
The clocks go back an hour tonight. While you are changing your clocks, it is a good reminder to check the batteries on any smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors too.
Oadby Residents' Forum this week
The regular Oadby Residents' Forum is on this Wednesday 31st October at the Brocks Hill Visitors Centre at 6.30pm. Before the meeting, between 6pm and 6.30pm, residents can speak directly to their councillor or the police, on a 1 to 1 basis. The agenda includes policing issues, Oadby traders and spending requests. Full details are here
Our local Fire and Rescue Service is running a "Celebrate Safely" campaign for Diwali, Bonfire Night and Halloween. Their web site has lots of advice and downloadable posters to let people know that you do not (or do) wish to take part in Halloween.
Oadby Festive Light Switch On, Saturday 10th November
The annual switch on is just a few weeks away. The event in Oadby town centre runs from 2pm to 7pm on the 10th November with live music, a funfair, Santa's Grotto and over 40 stalls. Everyone is welcome - so come along for an evening of festive fun and support our local traders. The switch-on is scheduled for 6pm.
Police Funding Petition
Please sign the petition on the UK Parliament web site calling for extra Police in Oadby and Leicestershire.
Government figures show that our county has lost the equivalent of 25 full-time police officers between 2017 and 2018. At the same time, recorded crime has gone up.
Our police need this extra funding and officers to tackle crime. Please sign and share the petition.
